Legal
Terms & conditions.
The terms on which Causon Daniels Contemporary Art sells and places works. Last updated September 2026.
1. Who we are
Causon Daniels Contemporary Art is a trading name of CAUSON DANIELS ART HOLDINGS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15705498. Our registered office is 70 Bounces Road, London N9 8JS, England.
You can reach us at info@causondaniels.com. We reply to written enquiries within two working days.
2. How a sale is agreed
Works shown on this site are an invitation to enquire, not an offer of sale. Availability, price and condition are confirmed in writing before any purchase proceeds.
A sale is formed only when we issue an invoice for a specific work and you accept it. Prices marked POA are quoted individually.
3. Payment
Payment is made by bank transfer to the account named on our invoice. We will never ask you to send funds to an account communicated by email alone — always confirm bank details with us by telephone before transferring money.
Title in a work passes to you on receipt of cleared funds in full. Risk passes on delivery.
4. Provenance and authenticity
Every work is supplied with the documentation we hold for it: condition report, provenance record and, where the artist or estate issues them, a certificate of authenticity.
Where a work requires third-party authentication, such as Pest Control for Banksy, we state this in writing before sale and will not complete a sale on a work we cannot document.
5. Delivery
Works are packed in bespoke crates and shipped by specialist fine-art carriers, fully insured in transit. Delivery timescales and costs are confirmed on the invoice.
Export licences, import duties and local taxes outside the United Kingdom are the buyer's responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing.
6. Cancellation and returns
If you are buying as a consumer at a distance, you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the work and return it for a full refund of the purchase price, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
To cancel, email info@causondaniels.com within that period. The work must be returned unaltered and in the condition it was delivered, in its original packing. We arrange the return shipping and insurance; the cost of return carriage is the buyer's unless the work was misdescribed or damaged.
Refunds are made to the original account within 14 days of the work being received back by us.
7. If something is wrong
If a work arrives damaged, or does not match the description and documentation supplied, tell us within seven days of delivery. We will collect the work at our cost and refund you in full.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
8. Anti-money laundering
As an art market participant we are required to verify the identity and source of funds of our clients on qualifying transactions. We may ask for identification documents before completing a sale, and we handle that material in line with our privacy policy.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
